In a tower, the move starts with the building. We send management our certificate of insurance with the association named the way it requires, book the service elevator and the loading area, and pad the elevator and the hallways. In the gated section, we arrange the gate entry with you in advance, and if a container has to stand on the street, the Village's right-of-way permit comes first.

Moving in Bal Harbour: What to Know

Bal Harbour is a village of 3,093 residents and about 3,500 homes (2020 Census) on the barrier island between the Atlantic and the bay, with Surfside to the south, Bay Harbor Islands across the water to the west and Haulover Park across Baker's Haulover Inlet to the north. The oceanfront along Collins Avenue is lined with condominium towers such as Oceana Bal Harbour and One Bal Harbour, beside the St. Regis and the Ritz-Carlton, and Bal Harbour Shops opened here in 1965.

The residential section on the bay side is gated, with entrances at Bal Bay Drive and Harbour Way, and the Village runs its guardhouse. Collins Avenue and 96th Street are state roads.

Planning to use a moving container or a dumpster? Placing one on a public street, including the streets of the gated section, needs a right-of-way permit from the Village, which allows work Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; on Collins Avenue and 96th Street the permit comes from FDOT.
